Try the perfect Luxe foundation for your bridal makeup photo finish
Kimberly Acworth and Cindy Cake Bride-To-Be doing her bridal makeup trial two weeks before her wedding
Bridal makeup and bridal trial updo’s are essential on the to-do list for brides-to-be. We recommend at minimum two weeks prior to your wedding for the best test.
Meet Cindy Cake one of my brides-to-be. When we spoke on the phone a few months ago, I was amazed at how organized she is, how incredibly specific on what she wanted for her hair and bridal makeup. We met, we planned out her year for all of her appointments that coordinated with her Bridal package that we customized just for her and her bridal party. We understand how stressful getting those to-do lists done!
We had already been in the process of updating her highlights for her bridal updo, we updated her base hair color which is now gorgeous and we just did her new bridal makeupwith Glominerals mineral makeup. I loved the experience with Cindy because she brought pictures that were helpful to get ideas on what she was looking for as an end result. We had spent about 1.5 working through color choices, where we would have certain eye shadow colors, lipstick, lipliners, blushes and her favorite was Gleam finish that gave her a mystical feel. Book here for your makeover!

Trichotillomania
Trichotilomania (disorder pulling hair out)
People who have trichotillomania have an irresistible urge to pull out their hair, usually from their scalp, eyelashes, and eyebrows. Trichotillomania is a type of impulse control disorder. People with these disorders know that they can do damage by acting on the impulses, but they cannot stop themselves.
What can you do about it?
Giving yourself a reason that is more exciting than pulling your hair out can be the answer long term. What we found is that the compulsiveness plus the additional consistency of pulling at the same spot on the scalp will cause long term damage to the follicle becomes irreparable. See solutions https://www.indulgesalon.com/natural-hair-extensions
Is it a personality disorder?
No its not a personality disorder. Everyday women and men just have this compulsion to pull or tug on the hair that can start at a young age leading into adulthood. I find that individuals don’t like it but they have to deal with the embarrassment of not having hair, some are have actually lost the hair in areas that are obvious.
Signs and symptoms of trichotillomania often include:
Repeatedly pulling your hair out, typically from your scalp, eyebrows or eyelashes, but can be from other body areas, and sites may vary over time
An increasing sense of tension before pulling, or when you try to resist pulling
A sense of pleasure or relief after the hair is pulled
Shortened hair or thinned or bald areas on the scalp or other areas of your body, including sparse or missing eyelashes or eyebrows
Preference for specific types of hair, rituals that accompany hair pulling or patterns of hair pulling
Biting, chewing or eating pulled-out hair
Playing with pulled-out hair or rubbing it across your lips or face
Most people who have trichotillomaniaalso will pick their skin, bite their nails or chew their lips. Sometimes pulling hairs from pets or dolls or from materials, such as clothes or blankets, may be a sign. Most people with trichotillomania pull hair in private and generally try to hide the disorder from others.
For people with trichotillomania, hair pulling can be:
trichotillomania back view
Focused. Some people pull their hair intentionally to relieve tension or distress — for example, pulling hair out to get relief from the overwhelming urge to pull hair. Some people may develop elaborate rituals for pulling hair, such as finding just the right hair or biting pulled hairs.
Automatic. Some people pull their hair without even realizing they’re doing it, such as when they’re bored, reading or watching TV.
The same person may do both focused and automatic hair pulling, depending on the situation and mood. Certain positions or rituals may trigger hair pulling, such as resting your head on your hand or brushing your hair. Trichotillomania is a long-term (chronic) disorder. Without treatment, symptoms can vary in severity over time. For example, the hormonal changes of menstruation can worsen symptoms in women. For some people, if not treated, symptoms can come and go for weeks, months or years at a time. Rarely, hair pulling ends within a few years of starting.
Solutions for Trichotillomania (pulling your hair out)
Think about your triggers that increase the pulling out and change up your routine to “replace” the habit such as getting busy with something else as soon as you realize what you are doing.

Here is the result of our client. I want to thank her for her bravery and courage to show these amazing photos before and after. I admire her and view this blog as my honoring her and other women like her in this situation. She is a confident woman, mother and wife that was able to attend a wedding that gave her the normal look that anyone at the wedding would not be able to tell. Here is what we did:
evaluated her color to make her hair look fuller and thicker.
recommended that she use Nioxin treatment.
highlighted her hair wefts and did a glued in hair extension on the top of her head. I didn’t keep the wefts open, we closed the gap to make it look like she had a part. Looked natural.
attached some fusion pieces to see how they would hold up to give her thickness (not an inexpensive process but great for chemotherapy type of grow outs or Trichotillomania)
discussed maintenance.
Results:
placing glued in weft hair extensions amongst new hair growth. Discussing placement
client AFTER with highlighted and lowlighted glued in hair weft hair extensions

Frizzy curly hair magically turned into a manageable hairstyle with Brazilian Blowout!
9 year old can now style her hair by herself
Our special client Grace came in for some special treatment today. It’s a few days before her first day of 4th grade at Dallastown middle school in Dallastown, Pa. Remember how you were on your first day? Concerned what you look like, what you are going to wear, meeting new people, etc. Our new friend Grace has naturally frizzy curly unruly hair that was very hard to manage.
When I met Grace, she was hanging out in the waiting room for her step mom. I said to her step mom who is really an amazing person, that I could help her daughter with managing her curly frizzy hair. She took us up on that offer.
Today was no different for our new friend Grace. She came in with
BEFORE – frizzy curl hair
frizzy curl hair that was recently cut short at another salon. She was afraid of the flat iron based on a previus experience at home. Like many of us at some point, the curling or flat iron got a little close to the skin and bam, a little burning experience. We have all been there. She was nervous, afraid, and not sure if this was going to work for her because she told us she liked her curls and was not sure about the flat iron heat close to her scalp. We understood.
Her stylist Alex T spent some time explaining the process of our Brazilian Blowout Keratin Treatment. Alex talked about the benefits of the amino acids that actually protect the outside layer of the hair along with protecting the inside of the hair. She explained that the Brazilian Blowout is safe plus it would make her hair feel silky soft. Grace allowed us the opportunity to perform the service on her bangs and along the side of her face where she was super curly in addition to being frizzy. Once her bangs were smoothed and straightened, Grace was all in for the rest of her hair. Check out the photos of the before and after of today’s hair transformation form frizzy curly rebellious hair to smooth and silky manageable hair.
At Indulge Salon, York Pa or Greensboro, Ga, we will always take the time to explain the pro’s and con’s of having your hair straightened with the Brazilian Blowout treatments. These Keratin treatments truly are a miracle for the frizziest, curliest types of coarse hair. But did you know that these treatments can be used on baby fine hair to thicken the actual strand? Yes, we do. Fine hair can just blow around causing the person to be self conscious. Our Brazilian Blowout Keratin treatment can be used the following ways:
AFTER Brazilian Blowout Keratin Treatment
to reduce bulk to the hair
defrizz the thick coarser textures of hair
make fine hair thicker instantle
smooth curly frizzy hair from any lengths
After receiving a brazilian blowout keratin treatment, the hair texture changes because the cuticle (outside layer of the hair) has a smoother texture. Just as our special client Grace has to learn to how to manage her new style with different brush sizes, products to make it fuller in some areas or how to blow dry the style in general.
We offer blow dry workshops that are 30 minutes in length to help teach someone how to style their hair. As you can see how happy our client Grace is with her new hairstyle that is smooth and non frizzy. We wish you the best at school this year!
