The new blushing reds by Wella Illumina have arrived. These stunning beauties start off with natural looking blah color and are turned into stunning models. This model has three different colors that are infused with golden blonde, a mixture of a copper with lighter blonde creating a more “apricot” color affect. The new color processes only take about 1 1/2 hours to actually figure out which colors are best for your skin tone and then we decide how much natural highlighting we will do for you and then we tone the colors with a special pastel tone that is more translucent in color that make the hair feel and look like silk.
Wella does have a patent on the ingredients of the color. Otherwise, I would have already found out because I love knowing what goes into the haircolor that I’m using on my clients.
If you love this haircolor leave a comment. I will be updating with the new photos of what is going on for Spring and Summer.
Don’t forget our color Explosion day March 15, 2014 from 8a – 4. This day is by far the my most favorite day of the year. We have some many of our clients that visit us this day for their hair color and highlights. I wanted to extend a courtesy to all my color friends out their in York PA. If you haven’t been to our salon yet, feel free to give us a call at 717.846.4424 to schedule a consultation for any one of the four – eleven new hair colors. We will take the time to provide a consultation, figure out the color best suited for your skin type, we will look at your texture of hair to see which color line would be better and we can recommend a new haircut for you either before or after the color explosion.
Men’s hairstyles are leaning closely towards the 1940’s. I’ve included a really cool website that talks about the lifestyle of the 1940s that is cute and fun.
I use to go with my grandfather to the barber shop when I was a young teen. This was our habit on a Saturday when my sister’s and I used to spend the weekend with our grandparents. My grandfather was a trucker driver for CF transport and he used to drive a good ole MAC truck. I remember it was green and had to “double clutch” in order to shift into separate gears. Pretty cool that just came to me as I was typing this into my updated blog. Those were the days when we would trolly along behind him like little ducklings. We used to sit and watch him have his hair clippered really short on the sides and tapered into the back along his neck which is called the nape of the cut. This image is courtesy of Pinterest.
These newer styles in the fashion world are called “undercuts”. Frankly, we have been performing these really cool undercuts for women and for men. It’s now just really coming to the forefront of fashion and being talked about. They are cool and they give men the appearance being more polished and professional. Even the rough and rugged clients look really hot and sexy with these types of cuts. Look for a photo shoot we will be doing for Father’s day! I have a special suprise for my blog readers.

compliments of Mens hairstyling magazine. This haircut demonstrates a super tight clipper on the sides with almost a blend near the curve of the head. This is longer on top for a slicked back approach.
My grandfather had this cut in this picture shown here:
Life Nostalgic I wanted to give credit to this fun website. If you get a chance check it out.
February 3, 2014, we are hosting a Wella hair color trend class at Indulge Salon on South George Street. For all of those clients that we serve, you know who you are, we are happy to announce that we are enjoying another Wella hair class from 10:00 – 1:00 p.m. You ask what do we do during a class like this?
1. we are shown what the trends that are emerging are in haircutting and coloring for Spring.
2. we actually work on mannequins to practice these new hair techniques. Believe me the mannequins do not complain or talk about nor do they give an opinion if you cut to much off their plastic heads.
3. we practice the new haircoloring techniques on them!
As a salon owner, I have to keep up with the trends. My staff and clients expect it. We enjoy brining a new flair for hair or a new cut that will enhance their appearance, bring out their eyes or another of their favorite feature. We also discuss their lifestyle to see what they can manage at home with minimal products. We never like overloading our clients with products. Only what they need to bring their new hairstyle come alive. We will always talk about the recommended hair brushes to help you style your new look. This is part of what we do at the salon before we actually perform miracles on your hair and after we are finished the cut.
If you want to bring in new pictures of what you like and don’t like this is a good idea. Visuals are so important to help communicate what your end result will be for you this 2014. If you are interested in a new haircut or hair color, call 717.846.4424
