I love this event! It speaks to me on so many levels … the importance of eradicating domestic violence, the catchy play on words, the silliness of watching men try to balance in heels. Walk a Mile in Her Shoes is a national movement to raise funds and awareness to combat gender violence.  This years walk is coming up in two weeks. Scheduled for Friday May 3, the one mile walk starts at 5:00pm at Sovereign Stadium. I love the way I look with a tan – the healthy glow on my face and bronze skin on my body.  I’ve shared with you my horror stories of being a teenager and slathering up with oil to attract as much sun as possible. But now that I am older, as much as I still love the look, SPF 30 is the first thing I apply to my face and neck every day.

I’m thankful that the weather is finally starting to cooperate and it seems like spring might finally be here. But I want to encourage you to take stock of your sunscreen now – if it’s expired – pitch it!!! Now, does this mean I have given up my love of the tan? No … I just seek the sun a little differently now and refuse to allow myself to burn. I use a strong SPF – never less than 30.
